The blind window!!
The recent days have been turbulent in terms of people relations!!!
People say they love truth, and they vehemently vouch that their life is a unity of thought word and deed!! Speak with such conviction about lofty ways of their life!!
I am always stunned into silence listening to all this nonsense which comes with a facade of holiness!!
The ubiquitousness of this tendency among people is what everyone needs to be scared of!!
The society at present is at the heights of turmoil!! On one side it has people as the one's mentioned above who as they are speaking to us in all earnestness and smiling at us are busy digging huge trenches right under our feet!! Ensuring a 100% live burrial!! Their goal being that their target is left totally incapacitated that the target cant even think of crawling out and manage a decent living!!
On the other hand we have a generation of youth who vouch for the pureness of their heart but lead a life bordering on insanity!! But mind you if you are planning to speak to them about our culture, values and what is ethical, they are sure to ask you to stop your holy nonsense!!
Two of my good friends recently said that they trust a heavy drinker than a man who is pretending to be holy!! Probably true in the wake of all these incidents coming to light in India about the spurt of fake swamiji's!! But my friends were actually speaking from their own personal experiences where the immediate relatives had harassed them under the veneer of spirituality!!
Well I am forced to agree with them on this matter that a heavy drinker is better than a man who is drunk by spiritual ego !
But what shocks me (trust me I am not a victorian in my thinking)is that the younger generation has no qualms when it comes to switching from one partner to another!! Infact they are game for multiple partners!!
The brazen attitude, the PDA syndrome, the obsession for physical love all these fixations and fascinations have overtaken everything else! We are allowed to be part of their life provided we dont interfere in their personal life!
All said and done I still prefer the younger generation with their fast life style as in most cases they are lost in their world of sensual pleasure! They atleast dont harm people with their cunningness(that has been my experience) and make no fake attempts to be human beings with integrity!!
As the Jo hari window model says, each of us has four segments in our minds - open area, blind area, hidden area and an unknown area!!
Each one of us has a tendency to be blind to our own faults. I am sure I have a colossal blind area too!! There is a desperate need to be honest with myselves and make a thorough analysis before I act or talk !!
The society seems to be on a ventilator as of now and with pretty good chances of it slipping into a coma!! We need a miracle to bring the society back to its normal health. We have neglected it for too long and there seems to be no way out of this than a miracle!!
The greatest malady that the world suffers from is, each one of us consider ourselves to be a holy cow who can do no wrong!! You, me, they, us we all can go wrong!!
Let us Stop, think and act!!!

ReplyDeletegood one mam...after watching the antics of the babas...we should seek holiness in ourselves only...no need to follow these preachers...n u ve put it correctly tht relationships r no more than a branded t-shirt...u put a new one as soon as you see a new one in the market...
ReplyDeleteInteresting; and I like the Jo hari window. Kind off helps classify areas; an area of interest to me lies in the congruity of 'Thought' 'Word' and 'Deed. The gen NEXT has this in sync though it could all be ‘material’...
