Some mothers do have them!
It is holiday time for the students of engineering colleges at Hyderabad!
Come holidays, many plans unfold! waking up whenever one feels like, having bath at a time one deems it fit, watching movies back to back, night outs with friends, hanging out with friends at CCD's, shopping in big malls to make their fashion statements for the next semester and a countless other meaningless things!
On the 19th of June, I happened to meet a big group of students from some of the best Engineering colleges in the city bound together by many commonalities like same schools, same colleges... They had all come to attend the Inauguration of free computer training and house keeping training planned by the Sri Sathya Sai Organizations! Wondering what drew their interest to the inauguration!
Well I am happy to share with you all something really amazing!
These young, vivacious, beautiful and intelligent girls were there to demonstrate to all those present that day and not present that day too that they were there to make a difference in the lives of people! They had come forward offering their services to teach the economically underprivileged in the society- the basic computer skills!!
Morning after morning I find it amazing to see their bubbly presence at the center - all excited to teach their students! It is indeed a sight to behold! Their promptness, their energy, their excitement, their team work everything renders me speechless!
Any thoughts which run on these lines- Oh My god! How boring!, Oh poor things they are missing out on all the fun!
You are mistaken! You might be right when it comes to getting up in the morning and finishing the morning ablutions early! Nothing else is missed out by them! Morning to night they are busy on the streets or at friends homes and countless other places having fun, discussing non stop nonsense, sometimes continuous night outs watching FIFA matches, shopping, planning! Amidst all this their plans for the computer classes, preparing assessment papers, evaluating answer scripts! They have fun even when doing mundane things!
It is just not rendering service but it is quality service! They have proved to be excellent teachers too!
If there are more number of such youngsters in India, India is sure to go places or if we are just left with these few they at least are sure to go places!
I am happy at least some mothers do have children who say “Let us do something for others”
Thank you sooo much for your appreciation.....i am speechless.. we are honoured

@ Haddock - I don't think I know you but nevertheless, answering your question yup it used to be a comedy serial but here I have used a similar title on a positive note coz this breed of youngsters is a rarity in the present day world! I am happy that way at least some mothers do have them!
